Made by Royal Cast Collection, SMK
Copy in plaster of a torso once placed in the Palazzo Valentini in Rome. The destroyed, antique torsos have been the locus of many dreams about restoration and identification. This one once had a head put on it, as can be seen from the hole in the neck to hold it to, of Diomedes, King of Argos. He fought on the Greek side during the Trojan War, and killed a couple of Amazons. The original is Roman, made in Greek style around year zero.
